AMD EPYC 9655

The 96-core Turin part: Zen 5, 384MB of L3, 12 channels of DDR5-6000 and PCIe 5.0 on the SP5 socket. It is the current-generation upgrade path for Genoa platforms - same socket, same memory generation, one more core tier at the top of the stack.

EPYC 9655 is SP5 (Turin, 9005 generation): DDR5-6000 across 12 channels, PCIe 5.0, 384MB L3. It fits the same SP5 boards as Genoa (9004), so the platform can be refreshed without changing memory - but the 400W TDP needs a chassis and heatsink rated for the 9005 line. Full CPU range: Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC; comparison index: all comparisons.

Quality Process

What We Check Before a EPYC 9655 Ships

1

sSpec / OPN Verification

The sSpec on Intel parts and the OPN on AMD parts are read from the package and checked against the specification on your order - including the P/non-P and Y/F suffixes that change TDP and clocks.

2

Post and Stress Test

Boot and sustained all-core load on a reference SP5 platform, with clocks, package temperature and throttling logged per serial.

3

Memory Training Check

The processor is trained with a populated memory configuration - a CPU that posts but will not train a full channel population is rejected.

4

Package and Contact Inspection

IHS marking, contact pads and substrate inspected under magnification for rework, bent pins or residue; engineering samples and remarked parts are excluded.

5

Condition and Warranty

New, OEM tray or decommissioned pull stated line by line, with a per-serial test record and a 1-year written warranty.

Report in the Box

Every unit ships with its per-machine diagnostic report and warranty. Full process: inspection guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What platform does the EPYC 9655 need?

AMD EPYC 9655 is a Turin (Zen 5, 9005) part on SP5 (LGA6096), with Up to 2 sockets (2P). The socket decides the board generation, and the socket is also where most buying mistakes happen - a SP5 part will not fit the previous generation's boards.

How much does the EPYC 9655 cost?

Prices are on request against confirmed stock, with the date the quote holds until stated in writing. Secondary-market CPU pricing is weekly, and the part condition (new, OEM tray or pull) changes the figure materially, so we quote per part and per condition rather than publish a number.

Can you supply matched pairs?

Yes. For 2P builds we supply matched pairs from one lot with the same sSpec/OPN and stepping, tested on a dual-socket SP5 board before shipment. Mixed-lot pairs can train memory but may step the memory speed down; we check the pairing rather than assume it.

How does the EPYC 9655 compare with its sibling?

Versus the EPYC 9654 (Genoa, 9004): same 96 cores and SP5 socket, one generation newer core (Zen 5 vs Zen 4), 384MB vs 384MB L3, and 400W vs 360W. The step is a platform refresh, not a new build.

What condition and warranty do you offer?

New, OEM tray and decommissioned-pull processors, each with a per-serial test record (post test, all-core stress, memory training, package inspection) and a 1-year written warranty. The condition is stated line by line before you commit; engineering samples and remarked parts are never sold.
