8GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMM

An 8GB 1Rx8 ECC registered DDR4-2400 module (PC4-19200) running at 1.2V, for Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 and Xeon Scalable generation one and two. Small per module, which is exactly what you want when the goal is to populate all channels rather than to maximise one slot.

An 8GB module is the smallest sensible server DIMM, and that is its point. On a six or eight channel platform, populating every channel with 8GB modules gives you the full memory bandwidth for a fraction of the cost of large modules, while leaving the capacity headroom to be added later when prices suit. If you need capacity rather than bandwidth, step up to the larger modules in the range. Full server memory range. Transparent Pricing

2026 Reference Pricing by Configuration

We do not publish a fixed price for DDR4 RDIMM or LRDIMM. DRAM contract pricing has been repricing through 2026 at a rate that makes a printed figure stale within days, so every module is quoted against the tray or pull stock we can confirm for your quantity, at the rate in force that day. If you need a number to budget against, tell us the quantity and the platform and we will put a firm figure in writing with the date it holds until.

Single Modules

On Request

Individually checked modules, new or pull condition stated before you commit. Quoted against live stock.

Matched Kits (8 or 12 DIMMs)

On Request

Full channel or socket population drawn from one lot, so a dual-socket build is not assembled from mixed batches. Tell us your platform and channel count.

Volume Orders (100+ modules)

On Request

Batch quantities consolidated from our Hong Kong warehouse, with freight and packing quoted alongside the memory.

No price is published on this page by choice rather than omission: DDR4 pricing has been moving too fast in 2026 for a static figure to be honest. Send quantity, platform and whether you need RDIMM or LRDIMM and we will quote against live stock. Related reading: server memory capacity planning and buying server CPU under memory inflation.

Quality Process

What We Check Before an 8GB DDR4-2400 Module Ships

1

Part Number and Label Read

The label is read and photographed, and the part number, capacity, organisation and speed rating are checked against the specification on your order. Samsung alone ships several 8GB DDR4 RDIMMs that differ only in the suffix.

2

Organisation Confirmed

1Rx8 is verified rather than assumed, because a 1Rx4 or a 2Rx8 part of the same capacity and speed is not interchangeable in every platform.

3

Gold Finger and Pin Condition

The edge connector is inspected under magnification for wear, scratching and bent pins, since a pull module can be electrically fine and still refuse to seat cleanly.

4

Register and SPD Check

The register clock driver and SPD are checked for damage and the SPD read is compared against the label.

5

Serial Logging

Serial numbers are recorded per module before packing, so a short or mixed shipment can be traced to the units dispatched rather than to a carton number.

Report in the Box

Every unit ships with its per-machine diagnostic report and warranty. Full process: inspection guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an 8GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMM cost?

We quote rather than publish, because DDR4 pricing through 2026 has moved fast enough that a printed figure goes stale quickly. Send the quantity and the platform and we will confirm condition and stock and put a firm figure in writing with the date it holds until.

Is 8GB per module too small for a server in 2026?

For capacity, usually yes - most builds want 16GB or larger per slot. For bandwidth it is not: on a six or eight channel platform, filling every channel with 8GB modules gives the same bandwidth as filling it with 64GB modules, at a fraction of the cost. That makes 8GB a sensible part for boot memory, test benches and channel-fill builds.

Can I mix 8GB modules with larger modules in the same server?

Usually yes at JEDEC speed, provided the organisation and rank match closely enough for the platform to train. Mixing a 1Rx8 module with a 2Rx8 module in the same channel can force a lower speed or fail outright on some platforms. Tell us the platform and the population you have in mind and we will tell you which combinations we would ship.

Will 2400 modules run in a faster platform?

Yes, and they will run at 2400. Memory support settles at the speed of the slowest module in the channel, so a 2400 part in a 2666 platform pins that channel to 2400. If the platform is going to be extended with faster parts later, populate at the faster speed now rather than mixing.

Are these modules new or pulled?

Both are available, and the condition is stated line by line before you order rather than after. New modules carry the manufacturer warranty process; pulls are tested and carry our own one year written warranty.
